It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the Police Staff College Website. We are an elite and highest institution of learning in the Zimbabwe Republic Police. Our mandate is to foster excellence in policing through training of law enforcement officers in various policing areas. We take pride in churning out graduates who are fit for purpose in line with the dictates of the Heritage-based Education 5.0 philosophy. We also extend a hand to the training of members and officers from our sister organisations and other government departments.

Police Staff College was established for the purpose of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement officers in the Zimbabwe Republic Police, by developing their administrative and operational capabilities at various levels. The College has proudly grown from being a certificate awarding learning centre to a degree awarding Institution under the tutelage of the University of Zimbabwe and Bindura of Science of Science Education. Over the years, the College has churned out loads and loads of flag bearing ambassador graduates who are making waves within the organisation and beyond.

We are constantly reviewing our curricular to meet our clients’ current and future needs. Technology is constantly changing and so is criminal sophistry. Similarly, the College introduced a Diploma in Cybersecurity Management and a Diploma in Forensic Science Investigations to deal with criminal sophistry of the 21st Century. Thus, the College is now prioritising education which is centred on science, technology and entrepreneurship as per the thrust of the Second Republic. These programmes are designed to deal with crimes of concern and emerging crimes so that a safe and secure environment for all is attained as spelt out in the Zimbabwe Republic Police Strategic Plan, Horizon 2025. Essentially, it is our intention to upgrade our diploma programmes to degree level in the medium term so as to attract international students.

The College has embraced the Heritage based Education 5.0 philosophy which has innovation as one of its anchoring pillars. In line with this philosophy of Ideation, Innovation and Industrialisation, the College has established an Innovation Hub. The Hub will serve as a nexus for collaboration between students, lecturers, researchers, industry and the wider community, to produce requisite goods and services. As the Principal, I am proud to inform you that the College has as of now produced cutting edge innovations which are currently in line to transform the organisation into a paperless entity.

In the long run, we envisage to morph into a fully-fledged state-of-the-art, unique, entrepreneurial, science and technology driven Police University which will be offering competitive programs to police officers and members of the public, as well as international students outside our borders. The support for this project from all concerned stakeholders has been encouraging and overwhelming. Let’s all put our hands on the deck in support of this dream which is also in sync with the vision of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde ED Mnangagwa of our country attaining a middle-income economy by the year 2030. Indeed, “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo.”
