How much fees do we pay per each semester?

All programs at the Police Staff College are fully sponsored by the Zimbabwe Republic Police. Students should however be willing to be bonded in terms of the ZRP Training Policy.

I had an accident and I was charged under the Road Traffic Act. Will I be considered for enrolment?

According to the ZRP Training Policy, traffic offences where a member was not subsequently charged under the Police Act Chapter 11:10 shall not be considered.

I was charged ten years ago so my record of service is not clean. Will I be considered for enrolment?

In view of the ZRP Training Policy;

  • Acts of misconduct committed more than six [6] years prior to the date of commencement of intended studies shall not be considered,
  • Any minor misconduct shall not be considered.

I want to apply but I am sure my Officer in Charge will not recommend my application since I have some personal issues with him. Can I send my application directly to Principal Staff College?

All applications for enrolment should follow the normal communication channel (that is from member-Officer in Charge-Officer Commanding District-Officer Commanding Province-Principal Staff College. No application will be received directly from individual members without following this defined channel.

I am a Constable but I want to come to Staff College. Can’t the College accommodate me?

According to the Organisational Policy, only Sergeants and above should be enrolled at Police Staff College. Constables can only be enrolled at the College upon waiver of this policy by the Commissioner General of Police in certain instances where he deems it fit.

I was given a place to study for the Diploma in Law at Police Staff College. I however feel that I should go for the Diploma in Cyber Security Management which seems to be more relevant to my duties. Will I be allowed to switch programs?

According to College Academic Regulations, once one is enrolled for a certain program, he/she will not be allowed to switch programs. If you want to switch programs, you will need to apply first for the program and follow the usual enrolment process.

I am doing a Certificate in Law and Policing and after completion I want to proceed to do a Diploma in Law. Will I automatically be given a place to study for the Diploma program?

Students doing certificate programs will not automatically be enrolled for a Diploma program. An interested individual will have to apply first and be considered for enrolment.  Preference will however be given to those students who could have performed exceptionally well in related certificate programs.

What happens if I fail a module during my course of study?

According to the College’s Academic Regulations, students who fail any module should apply to repeat the failed module when it is next offered. They will however pay a fee to re-write the module since the sponsorship does not cover for repeating failed modules.

What dress code do we put on during lessons?

Students at the College are considered to be on duty. Dress order of the day will be worn during lessons.

Are certificates from Staff College recognised?

Police Staff College is affiliated to the University of Zimbabwe and Bindura University of Science Education. All our certificates are recognised nationally, regional and internationally.
