OVERVIEW
The thrust of the department is to articulate efficient, effective and standardised training and development aimed at ensuring the production of high-quality officers and members in the organisation.
- The department provides induction and refresher courses for the ranks of Superintendents and Chief Superintendents.
- It organises developmental seminar and workshops for Assistant Commissioners and Commissioners.
- Offers the Diploma in Business Enterprises Development in Policing programme in association with University of Zimbabwe.
- Offers the Certificate in Staff Administration.
- The department also superintends over the Public Relations section which is responsible for the running of a two-year Diploma in Public Relations in association with Bindura University of Science Education. The department enrolls members who are attached to public relations offices across the country as well as members from sister organisations namely Airforce of Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority after every two years.
- On the other hand, the department superintends the coordination of students undergoing a sponsored Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) Degree in Police and Security studies which is run for four years at Bindura University of Science Education.
