Application Process

For Police Officers

Police Staff College enrols students who are members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police across the country. A quota is also reserved for members from our sister organisations and government departments. Whenever the College intents to enrol for a particular program, we flight an advert through the organisation’s communication channels calling for interested applicants to respond. Outlined hereunder is the application process one has to follow if interested to be enrolled in an advertised program:

Step One

Write an application letter (directed to one’s Officer in Charge) responding to the signal calling for applications. On the application letter one should state:

  • His/her force number, rank and name
  • Station and section where one is currently attached
  • Age
  • Length of service.

Step Two

Attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae.

Step Three

Attach certified photocopies of the following documents:

  • Academic and Professional certificates
  • Marriage certificate (if applicable)
  • National and Police identity cards
  • Long birth certificate
  • Memorandum of Good Work (if applicable).

Step Four

The Officer in Charge will attach a cover letter stating whether he/she recommends the member’s application. The Officer in Charge will then forward the application letter together with all the attachments to the Officer Commanding District.

Step Five

The Officer Commanding District will forward the application to the Officer Commanding Province with his recommendations. The application will follow this normal channel until it reaches the Principal, Police Staff College.

Step Six

Once an application is received by the Principal, Police Staff College; a member is said to have successfully applied for enrolment. The selection process will then start from there until one is successfully selected for enrolment.

NB: At no time should applications be forwarded directly by members to Police Staff College without following the normal channel.

 

 

For members from other sister organisations/government departments

  1. Police Staff College reserves quotas for members from our sister organisations (Zimbabwe National Army, Airforce of Zimbabwe, Prisons and Correctional Services) and other government departments (ZIMRA etc).

 

  1. Whenever enrolment for a certain program is about to start, the Principal Police Staff College will communicate with the relevant Head of the concerned organisation requesting for students as per the organisation’s allocated quota.

 

  1. The Head of the organisation will second students meeting the given enrolment criteria. The Head will forward selected names to the Principal, Police Staff College.

 

  1. Once names are received by the Principal Police Staff College, they will be slotted in classes from selected police officers and they will be called to attend lessons.
