OVERVIEW
The department’s main thrust is to provide professional and technical support and to develop training techniques through research-based initiatives for all training programmes at the college.
The Department strives to provide quality service to the College in particular and to the organization in general through research driven programmes at the college. The Department seeks to bring new relevant courses on board for the betterment of the organisation. It is also the custodian of the College physical and electronic libraries.
The Department pursues its priorities through a variety of research methodologies such as practical evaluations of all programmes offered at the College, carrying out impact assessments of the programmes on the policing domain. In addition, the Department is the conduit for fostering relations with other universities and institutions of higher learning. To achieve this feat, the Department attends to and organises meetings, seminars and workshops on research and innovation.
The department superintends over the Information and Communication Technology and Audio Visuals section. This section was set up to provide high-quality information technology and communications resources and services through shared resources, common infrastructure and functions in support of the academic and administrative activities at the College. The department is tasked to explore new horizons in terms of technology that could equate to other training institutions. It is also supposed to offer technological courses aimed at improving the performance of police officers in policing. It is also mandated to provide proper and adequate coverage at all College functions in terms of video filming and photographing.
The department offers the Diploma in Cyber Security Management under the auspices of the University of Zimbabwe.
